Bookings for legal vows must be made one calendar month before your preferred marriage date. You can see availability on the calendar at the time of booking.

FAQs

Q: Can I choose my own date and time?
A: Yes. You will see a calendar with available dates and times at the time of booking. If you want a date/time outside this range, get in touch with your request.

Q: Is my marriage recognised outside Australia?
A: Australian marriages are recognised worldwide. (Some countries may require an Apostile Stamp on the marriage certificate for them to register your marriage in their country.)

Q: How can I get married in Australia?
A: If you are 1) 18 or over, 2) not already married, 3) not in a prohibited relationship, and 4) consenting and willing to enter into marriage as defined by the law in Australia, then you can get married ASAP in Australia. Australian law requires one month’s notice be given by a form called the ‘Notice of intended marriage’.

Q: Can I bring my own photographer?
A: Yes. Choose the Quickie Wedding option. The Marriage Office requests access to photos to share via Social Media.

Q: Can I bring my own Celebrant?
A: Yes. Choose the venue hire option and enter a contract with your own Celebrant directly. They will need to provide evidence of current Public Liability Insurance prior to entering the space.

Terms & Conditions

i) Postponement of marriages can be made any time up until 2 days before the marriage date – The Notice of Intended Marriage, Legal Paperwork and Commonwealth Marriage Certificate are valid for 18 months from the date of lodgement and bookings can be postponed as many times as required over that 18 month period without penalty.

ii) Payment is required for the lodgement of the Notice of Intended Marriage. There is no extra charge to transfer this to another Celebrant if so requested.

iii) The payment to lodge this form is non-refundable under any conditions, including but not limited to, the client lodging the form with incorrect details, the client being ineligible to marry or the client’s preferred date and time of marriage not being available. (In which case alternative dates will be provided)

iv) The Booking Fee (Service Fee) on any paid options is non-refundable, as this fee is an administrative fee used to book and confirm your selection.
